要点
  • The paradox of many of these programs today is that you essentially must fly on very expensive economy tickets or in paid business to reach the elite tiers, and the tier benefits are really mostly beneficial to economy fliers.
  • So, you need to pay for business to reach the elite tier that comes with business class benefits if you are in economy, such as priority check-in, extra luggage allowance, and lounge access.
  • And of course, don’t forget all these credit cards that all the US-based airlines try to push really hard, to the point it almost appears desperate.
  • These products, mostly, are not available for program members living elsewhere, unless they really go through a process of getting an ITIN, etc.
  • So, program members outside the country don’t have the same access to qualify for the status, and I guess these US-based airlines have decided that they cannot cater to the non-US audience.
