要点
- At least 12 people have been killed and 309 injured in an attack on the airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh, local authorities say, meaning this is one of the most fatal number of aviation-related casualties not directly involving the crash of an airliner.
- The region is now battling with these local insurgencies and terrorist / proxy attacks for as long as the war in Iran has been going on and it shows no sign of letting up.
- For some reason it appears that Saudi Arabia has been identified as a target that can be engaged by these terrorists with less impunity than for example the UAE or Qatar.
- According to the BBC both casualties and the number of the injured are substantial.
