- Just wanna share the lesson learned today for forgetting that I have had an old e-cig on my computer bag that had been there for at least a year.
- Upon departure from Saigon on a 2-day trip, they found it from the x-ray and wanted to charge me $240 USD penalty (5m VND) for breaking the law.
- I had no intention of brining it in, never used it while in country, and I also came to Saigon last year with the same bag but was not an issue (it was inside the same bag too last year).
- I had only $100 cash with me and asked the officer to lower the penalty, he accepted it without receipt although he said the minimum penalty is $120 (3m VND) so he said he did me a favor.
